About me
My name is Sam Joy. Before working in the fitness industry I lived in the US on a ‘soccer’ scholarship. Having the opportunity to play football everyday gave me a great insight into how an athlete should live day to day.
After deciding to get into the fitness industry I was also lucky enough to pursue a career as a Crossfit coach.
Since becoming a Crossfit coach and Personal Trainer I have been grateful to work with many different clients. My client base ranges from Professional athletes to gym newbies that are trying to shred some pounds. I’m not content on just having a Personal Trainer qualification or my Crossfit L1. I am always looking to go on high profile courses to improve my knowledge and ability to improve my coaching. Recently I have attended the Crossfit Gymnastics course and Crossfit Programming course.
My outlook on fitness is summed up by one quote ‘Your body is an instrument, not an ornament’. I believe that we should use fitness and training to improve the quality of our lives.

I have been working with Sam to improve my gymnastics. Both in class at CrossFit poole and on a 121 basis he is very skilled and knowledgeable to help you get the best from your session. You will quickly see changes to your progress.

He is very attentive, polite and will make you feel comfortable in a gym setting. 10/10 would recommend.

I started training with Sam in the summer of 2020 to improve both my physical and mental health. Challenging but extremely rewarding, Sam’s sessions are brilliant. His knowledge and skills in the fitness industry are extremely impressive, and in a short space of time he has already helped me to become a better version of myself. Sam’s a fantastic fitness coach and I’d recommend anyone who is looking to make a positive change to try one of his sessions.

I have been training with Sam for the past 6 months and could not recommend him more! He has really pushed me to achieve things I never would have otherwise and created a great training plan to do this and more! Really fun sessions with great knowledge, would highly recommend!

Sam is one of our coaches at Crossfit Poole and always makes the session fun, whilst taking time to help individuals when needed, so have no doubt he is just as attentive on 1-to-1 PT sessions.  And he definitely practices what he preaches!
